In this method, the OLOID body is not completely immersed in the liquid medium. Gradual variation of submersion up to half of OLOID body is useful. With each level more outside the medium circulation performance decreases, but air is pulled under the water surface and enriches the medium with oxygen. Additionally the typical waves are developed, which increase the surface of the water.

Advantages of the OLOID as aerator

  1. The OLOID units are agitators, which can also be used for ventilation. Consistently new water masses are ventilated and there is no short-circuit flow. The wave formation developed encompasses a water surface area of up to 10,000 m2.
  2. Oxygenated water is guided to the ground. Anaerobic, biological, sedimented material is homogeneously mixed with the oxygen and the active biology. This excites the biological degradation processes in the sediment (carbon and nitrogen removal).
  3. An even more effective oxygen transfer takes place through the pre-accession of oxygen-depleted deep water to the surface.
  4. This results in an increase in oxygen uptake by normally 3 gO2 / m2 * day to 10-12 gO2 / m2 * day.
  5. From green algae heavily populated waters have a very high oxygen saturation on the surface. This water is transported in the low-oxygen, deeper layers, where often oxygen consumption takes place. Between green algae and agitating OLOIDs a maximum procedural optimization for the treated pond is reached.
  6. The energy demand of OLOID units in aerating position is even lower than in stirring position due to the lower resistance. Through this, combination with solar technology is even more economical.
  7. By recirculation and wave formation on a large water surface the OLOID technology is very interesting for duckweed control and ice prevention.
  8. Through the flowing movement of OLOID there is no risk of injury to fish.
